How profile rolling works

Rolling joins two aluminium half-shells with insulating bars into one composite profile. The bars separate the inner and the outer shell, which is what makes the profile thermally broken. The joint is formed mechanically, under controlled pressure, on a rolling machine. We run the service on the Schüco Isomat, which joins and tapes system profiles in a single process step, including combinations with special solutions.

Three operations, one pass

Three operations are combined in a single pass through the machine. The profile leaves the line joined, protected against surface damage and, where the project requires it, adjusted to the specified angle.

Rolling

Half-shells and insulating bars are joined into one composite profile, ready for further fabrication on your side.

Taping

Protective tape is applied in the same pass. It shields coated and anodised surfaces during fabrication, transport and installation, and removes cleanly.

Angle adjustment

Profile angles from the Schüco façade and skylight ranges are adjusted precisely, so profiles arrive in the geometry the project needs.

When to use our profile rolling service

Our profile rolling service provides a flexible alternative to operating your own rolling equipment. It reduces the need for investment, floor space and specialised personnel while giving you access to finished, ready-to-fabricate profiles whenever required.

No machine of your own

You do not operate an Isomat and do not plan to invest in one.

Your own line is fully booked and a project cannot wait for a free slot.

Fluctuating volumes

Demand varies through the year, so a machine is hard to justify on utilisation alone.

What you get beyond the rolling itself

The rolling operation itself is a matter of minutes. Whether the finished profile performs as intended depends on what surrounds it: the correct profile combination, documentation that reflects the current system status, and a team that identifies discrepancies before the machine is set up.

A technical check before anything is joined

We review which profiles are to be rolled and check the order against the tooling. If a combination does not work, you hear about it before production starts, not after.

If you want to roll in-house, we run practical training. Customers bring their own profiles and work through the process with our specialists.

Considering your own Isomat?

Where production volumes support the investment, we also supply Schüco fabrication machinery, covering profile joining and taping as well as sawing and CNC machining, including installation, operator training and ongoing service. A number of our partners begin with the rolling service and move to in-house production once their capacity utilisation has stabilised.
